Why did I start Anna’s Alternative Gifts?

I started Anna’s Alternative Gifts because I wanted gift-giving to be more than just a transaction — I wanted it to bring thoughtfulness into the world of gift-giving, a story, and a way to connect with people in a meaningful way. I believe gifts should be personal, unique, and filled with heart — not just something pulled off a shelf.  I’ve always loved finding unique, thoughtful items that make someone feel truly seen. Too often, gifts are rushed, generic, or mass-produced, and I knew there was a better way.

For me, “alternative” means stepping away from the ordinary. It’s about choosing gifts that inspire creativity, spark joy, and support moments of connection. Whether it’s a beautifully curated book bundle, a personalized tumbler, or a set of stationery that inspires, my goal is to help you give something unforgettable.

Anna’s Alternative Gifts is also rooted in my values: sustainability, supporting small makers, and offering items that feel personal and intentional. Every product I choose is something I’d be excited to give (or receive!) myself. My goal is simple: to help people deliver better gifts, with heart.

As a wife, a mom of two energetic boys, and a former military service member, I’ve learned the value of resilience, resourcefulness, and making every moment count. My time in the military taught me discipline and determination, while motherhood has fueled my love for creativity, joy, and appreciating the little things that make people feel special.
